Since 2013, Teal Media has served as a creative partner to Everytown for Gun Safety, a movement of Americans working together to end gun violence and build safer communities.
Stories of gun violence are in the news on a regular basis. Everytown needs to respond quickly when tragedy strikes while remaining focused on their long-term strategy of building a nationwide movement against gun violence. Teal’s ongoing partnership with Everytown means we are ready to respond at a moment’s notice, while working in the background to support the long-term fight.
Not a moment to waste
Pioneering the movement to end gun violence
Everytown relies on Teal to get the job done. We structured a “rapid response” relationship that allows us to collaborate, conceptualize, and produce the appropriate response – often at a moment’s notice. Teal is on-hand to ensure that Everytown has everything they need to be successful, from visually-engaging social graphics, animated Instagram videos, action-driven microsites, to interactive data maps.
Social graphics appear in various social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, and Vine, and elicit thousands of reactions and shares.
Teal also collaborates with Everytown on long-term advocacy and education efforts. Together, we’ve developed in-depth professionally-printed reports, long-form infographics, conference booth designs, direct mail pieces, bumper stickers, t-shirt designs, and more. Teal’s commitment to the highest levels of consistency, clarity, and quality in our products enabled Everytown to achieve tremendous brand awareness and trust from its audience.
The powerful “Not One More” rapid response campaign was based on a call to action by Richard Martinez, whose son Christopher was shot in the mass shooting at UC Santa Barbara. Putting the focus on this father’s stirring and straightforward call to end the violence, Teal Media designed a variety of materials to support Everytown’s efforts, including postcards that Everytown mailed to members of Congress on behalf of individual Americans pledging to support candidates who fight for common sense laws to reduce gun violence.
Microsites like Gun Fire on School Grounds, track gun violence in schools across the country.
Since we’ve started working with Everytown, more than 5 million mayors, moms, cops, teachers, survivors, gun owners, and everyday Americans have come together to make our communities safer.
Fighting for a great cause and a great client is why we do the work that we do at Teal. We are inspired and motivated by work by that creates positive change, and teaming up with organizations like Everytown allows us to do the work that we love.
Teal Media’s work with Everytown also received national attention and accolades, including being nominated for a Fast Company 2014 Innovation by Design award. Jessica Teal, Principal of Teal Media, highlighted Teal’s work with Everytown when she spoke about designing for action with HOW magazine.
“This week we (unexpectedly) hit 1 million fans on Facebook…we couldn’t have done this without your help creating awesome social content.”
