Work
For ReFrame, led by the Sundance Institute and Women In Film, Los Angeles (WIF), every screen project is an opportunity to make progress toward a more gender-representative industry.
ReFrame came to Teal with a bold idea: Give screen professionals the practical resources, tools, and solutions to create more equitable and representative work environments, and use grassroots power to transform the industry. With the full commitment of executives across all major companies and studios, Teal helped ReFrame conceptualize and launch the ReFrame ReSource: an accessible, inclusive, and detailed playbook to mitigate bias and dramatically improve hiring and creative decision-making—at all levels. This pro bono project will have a lasting impact on the way creative productions are led.
Building on the ReFrame brand, Teal created a visual system for the ReFrame ReSource that uses iconography to highlight solutions across the life of a project—from development and financing through hiring, production, and audience engagement. And drawing from ReFrame’s influential Ambassador network, the new website highlights real stories and vignettes of leaders who have put this playbook into action. Other key features include:
Together, Teal and ReFrame created a new hub for driving change in the industry. In the words of the ReFrame team, the ReSource is “designed to engineer bias and barriers out of current systems and champion equity and inclusion throughout development, production and distribution.” We’re proud to support this work on a pro bono basis and look forward to watching the impact of this project spread through the screen industry.
